Pillar Pilates, sole trader Michelle Monk Pilates Instructor trading as Pillar Pilates, Buckland Ave, Dover Kent CT16 2NN (‘I’ or ‘me’).

AGREEMENT

Please ensure that you read this agreement carefully as not only does it form the legal relationship between us, but it also provides useful information about the practical side of your classes. If you are booking and paying, my acceptance of your order will take place when I email you to accept it, at which point this document will constitute a legally binding agreement between us.

I want you to enjoy and benefit from my Pilates classes. The terms and conditions below are set out to help you do this and to safeguard my classes.

Your health and  participation in Group Classes and Private Sessions:

  • I am not a medical professional and cannot advise on whether you should join the classes or not. If you have any concerns at all about your health and undertaking the classes, you should consult your doctor or other medical professional. You should notify me at the outset of any medical conditions that you have or any concerns that you have about participating in the classes. If I have concerns about your health and/or ability to participate in the classes, we may require you to leave the class.
  • You understand that when participating in any exercise or exercise program, there is the possibility of physical injury. If you engage in my Group Classes or Private Sessions, you agree that you do so at your own risk, are voluntarily participating in these activities and assume all risk of injury to yourself.
  • Make sure you exercise in a large well-lit area that is free from obstacles and that you wear comfortable clothing that doesn’t inhibit movement.
  • Stop exercising and consult your physician if you feel dizzy, faint, light-headed or if you experience any discomfort.
  • Only you can monitor your condition during your workout. You are responsible for exercising within your limits and seeking attention and advice as appropriate. Never force or strain.
CLASSES
  • My classes are scheduled for 60 minutes unless stated otherwise stated on the website.
  • Beginners Classes are limited to 8 people per class  so please book early to avoid disappointment. Other group classes are limited to 15 per class.
  • Classes will take place at the times and on the dates set out on my website and confirmation email. I reserve the right to change my timetable and scheduled classes and will provide you with as much notice as possible of this. Please ensure that your email address and other contact details are always up to date and email me at michelle@pillarpilates.co.uk  if you need to provide me with updated details. I may post revisions to the timetable or the scheduled classes on my website http://pillarpilates.co.uk  so please check my website regularly.
  • If you are a coming to a block of classes for the first time, or booking an Initial Consultation/ Private Session, you will need complete and return an Enrolment Form, which should be emailed to michelle@pillarpilates.co.uk  before your first class. The information on this form enables me to be aware of any injuries or other limitations so that I can ensure that you are working safely in the class. The form should be updated yearly. You will not be able to participate in any class without completion of the form. 
  • It is very important that you turn up for your class or session on time. Please plan to arrive early in case of heavy traffic or some other delaying factor. Unfortunately, if you arrive late for your class or session, I will not be able to continue past the scheduled end time. If you are more than 5 minutes late to class, you may not be able to attend the class. This is due to consideration of the instructor, other clients, and the importance of warm-up. This decision will be at the discretion of the instructor.
  • If I am coming to your home for your class, please be ready and prepared before my arrival. There must be room for a mat with no obstacles that could inhibit movement. The room should be warm and ventilated. If you are not ready on time when I arrive, the class may be cut short as I may not able to extend my allcoated  class time.
  • You may not assign your place in any class to another person. 
PAYMENTS, CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
  • All services are payable in advance to secure your place via my online booking system. Private sessions are not bookable via the online system: please contact Michelle to discuss your requirements.
  • Your booking is only secure once payment is received. It is not possible to pay by cash, you can pay by Stripe, Card or Paypal. 
  • £1 per mile extra charge applies for home visits outside a 6 mile radius of CT16.
GROUP CLASSES CANCELLATION POLICY
  • Group classes can be cancelled up to 24 hours before the Class event.  
  • Tickets can be transferred to a different class 24 hours before the event. Any Pass uses are returned upon class cancellation.
  • Classes are not transferable to another person.
INITIAL CONSULTATION CANCELLATION POLICY
  • You can cancel/reschedule appointments up to 24 hours before the appointment for a full cancellation refund. Please do this by contacting Michelle on 07857 661483 or emailing michelle@pillarpilates.co.uk  
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged full rate.  Any due refunds will be returned within 48 hours.
  • Initial Consultations must be used within three months (90 days) of their purchase date.
  • Sessions are not transferable to another person.
PRIVATE SESSION/BLOCK PRIVATE SESSIONS CANCELLATION POLICY
  • You can cancel/reschedule appointments up to 24 hours before the appointment for a full cancellation refund. Please do this by contacting Michelle on 07857 661483 or emailing michelle@pillarpilates.co.uk
  • Less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged full rate.  Any due refunds will be returned within 48 hours.
  • All blocks of Private Sessions/Single Session must be used within six months (180 days) of their purchase date.
  • Sessions are not transferable to another person.
EQUIPMENT AND WHAT TO BRING
  • For hygiene and comfort reasons, please bring your own mat to class. 
  • I may be able to provide a mat in case you forget to bring one but cannot guarantee availability.
  • A towel in replacement for a mat is not recommended as they are a slip hazard.
  • I also request that all clients wear clean socks to class for the same hygiene reasons.  
  • Please ensure you bring a small hand towel and your own water bottle with you to class.
SUITABLE ATTIRE
  • You must attend the classes wearing suitable attire for the class. Fitted clothing which allows you to move freely.
  • Bare feet or grip socks are recommended. 
LOST PROPERTY
  • Your belongings are left in the community venues at your own risk.
  • If you bring your personal belongings to classes, you are responsible for their safety, and I shall not be liable for any loss, damage or destruction to such belongings.

LIABILITY RELEASE
  • I understand that my teacher is a qualified and insured Pilates mat class teacher.
  • I understand that Pillar Pilates is in no way responsible for the safekeeping of my personal belongings while I attend class.
  • I will tell the teacher of anything painful / unusual I experience in the class and between classes.
  • I will stop doing the exercise if I or my teacher thinks I need to, or follow the alternatives my teacher gives me.
  • I understand my teacher may offer me professional advice relating to my ability to exercise and the teacher may consider it unprofessional to continue to teach me if I do not wish to follow that advice.
  • I will keep my teacher updated on any changes in my medical condition.
  • I understand that all exercise carries a risk and I voluntarily participate in Pillar Pilates classes with full knowledge that there is risk of personal injury, property loss or death. I agree that neither I, my heirs, assigns or legal representatives will sue or make any other claims of any kind whatsoever against Michelle Monk or Pillar Pilates, or members for any personal injury, property damage/loss, or wrongful death, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
  • I acknowledge that I have either had a physical examination and have been given my Doctor’s/health care professional permission to participate, or that I have decided to participate in activity without the approval of my Doctor/health care professional and do hereby assume all responsibility for my participation and activities, and utilisation of equipment in my activities.
  • If I am struggling with anything in class, have any problems or concerns, I will let the instructor know as soon as I can, so that the instructor can do their best to help or make modifications.
  • I understand that classes at Pillar Pilates involve hands-on correction and I hereby consent for my instructor to work this way.
  • I reserve the right to change the advertised instructor if the instructor is unavailable due to illness or unforeseen circumstances. No money will be refunded if the class instructor changes. If the class is cancelled, then you will offered an alterative date or receive a full refund.
  • If there are not enough people booked into the class to run it for the term, I reserve the right to cancel the class. A full refund will be given to you.
  • I understand that Pillar Pilates, and Michelle Monk will not be held responsible or liable for any injury or harm I sustain as a result of using exercise videos shared by email, video and text.

Pregnancy; Sorry, I do not accept new participants that are pregnant. Please let me know as soon as possible if you fall pregnant so that I can offer you extra advice and alternative exercises which may be more appropriate for you in class.
